Come Clean & Get Treatment

COME CLEAN AND RECEIVE TREATMENT

There have been some objections to the recent demand by the government for those who attended the tabligh event in Sri Petaling to surrender themsleves for testing. Many of those who refuse to surrender are afraid that they would be quarantined in hospital. Well, recently Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok was forced to shut down in order to be sanitised, after a pregnant woman who was infected with the coronavirus gave birth there. She failed to disclose that a family member she lived with attended the tabligh event and had tested positive for the coronavirus.

I urge all members of the public, please do not fear isolation. Because of a person’s refusal to be tested, an entire hospital that could have offered treatment to COVID-19 patients has been forced to shut down, and the staff there quite possibly infected. I am urging all those who have been in contact with any COVID-19 clusters in Malaysia, to quickly turn themselves in and be tested. If you surrender now, you will quickly be given treatment and comfortable lodgings.

Refuse to surrender, and you will be committing offences under Sections 10 & 12 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, which may land you in jail with a hefty fine.

I understand, you fear for yourself being quarantined. But you should fear more for your family and friends, who are at risk of being infected by you.
